Our current environment no longer affords us the luxury and privilege of avoiding difficult conversations. We must have real conversations about real people and issues and engage in change. When one is accustomed to privilege, equality can feel like oppression. We must examine and even challenge our current beliefs and ethos and expand our perspective.
Diane Benevides Wille
Diane was born and raised outside of Los Angeles, CA into a large extended, diverse family. She understands the experience and barriers of navigating the world as a person of color and has overcome not only these systemic barriers but also challenging values and expectations within her own community. As such, she was taught to work harder, be better and to be a voice for those not represented in a given space.
Diane began her career as a Child and Family therapist, believing that there was too much suffering in the world. Her advocacy, passion and dedication to serving others brought her opportunities to understand systems of oppressions and how they affect marginalized groups. She enjoys having those difficulty conversations and encouraging others to utilize their areas of privilege to advocate for others.
